Formerly Brookwood Medical Center and Baptist Health System, Brookwood Baptist Health unifies two of the largest resources for high-quality, affordable healthcare for the citizens of Central Alabama. With roots extending nearly a century, the network’s community of care is comprised of five acute care hospitals with more than 1,700 licensed beds: Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Walker Baptist Medical Center and Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Brookwood Baptist Health also provides patients with the largest primary care network in the state, which includes approximately 60 primary and specialty care clinics; approximately 1,500 affiliated physicians; and nearly 7,300 employees. TALLADEGA, Ala. – November 22, 2016 – Citizens Baptist Medical Center has been named to the prestigious 2016 HomeCare Elite® list of the top performing Medicare-certified home health facilities and agencies in the United States. This designation marks 5 years of recognition for Citizens Baptist in providing patients and the community with the utmost care and patient experience in the following counties: Talladega, Coosa, Clay, Shelby, St. Clair and Calhoun.

Now in its eleventh year, The HomeCare Elite® annual recognition is the compilation of the most successful home care providers and facilities in the United States. This market-leading recognition program, from ABILITY® Network and DecisionHealth, names the top 25 percent of home care providers in key home health quality and performance measures. This year, the key measures included quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience, process measure implementation, and financial management.

This market-leading review utilizes publically available data from Home Health Compare and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Cost Reports. To be included in the annual calculation a home health facility or agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome measure in Home Health Compare.
