BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – Brookwood Baptist Health today announced Candice Evans, patient service representative at the Brookwood Baptist Diagnostic Center – Hwy 119 location, has been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Candice has been named a “Tenet Hero” for her incredible contributions in 2020.

The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their respective communities that goes above and beyond their daily job responsibilities. Nominated by fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and key tenets of its Community Built on Care.

Candice was recognized as a Tenet Hero for her demonstrated servant leadership behavior that inspires others, always seeking ways to help others both inside and outside of work. She goes above and beyond to identify the needs of patients as they come in and out of the building, such as bringing water to an elderly woman waiting in the car on a hot day, and other things that remind us all to keep our patients first. Additionally, she frequently gives at the homeless shelter and does so alongside her kids to teach them the importance of helping those in need.

“Candice inspires us through her actions to make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of others and throughout our community,” said Brookwood Baptist Diagnostics Center – Hwy 119 Administrator, Walker Turner. “We are grateful that her efforts, selfless nature and commitment to compassionate care, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, have been recognized with this honor.”
