Dr. Russell Reeves is a board-certified cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates. With 50 years of experience, he specializes in the implantation and management of cardiac pacemaker and defibrillation devices, especially the extraction of pacemaker leads and wires. He treats patients with structural and valvular heart disease, including:
- Arrhythmia
- Cardiovascular disease
- Complex valve disorders
- Congestive heart failure
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart valve disease
- Ischemic heart disease
- Myocarditis and cardiomyopathy
Dr. Reeves’ Training
He earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. His residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease were completed at the University of Alabama University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Board certified in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Reeves is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His professional memberships include the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, American Heart Association and Birmingham Cardiovascular Society.
Dr. Reeves served on the faculty at the University of Alabama School of Medicine for eight years. He has extensive research experience and has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
