Dr. Raashid Ashraf is a board-certified cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates. With 33 years of experience, he specializes in the treatment of patients with structural and valvular heart disease, including:

Dr. Ashraf’s Training
He received his medical training at Forman Christian College in Pakistan. Dr. Ashraf conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow in the nuclear medicine department at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where he served as chief fellow.

Board certified in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Ashraf is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His professional memberships include the American Heart Association, Alabama Medical Association and Jefferson County Medical Society.
Dr. Ashraf has extensive research experience as both principal and sub-investigator in studies focusing on heart failure, arrhythmia, acute coronary syndrome, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He has been published in several medical journals and abstracts, and has presented at numerous meetings and conferences.
