Bio
Dr. Andy Miller is a highly experienced general and invasive cardiologist with specialized training and interest in patients with complex and difficult to manage hypertension. He has been in both academic and private practice, previously serving as the Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship and Vascular Biology & Hypertension Programs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and now as a clinical cardiologist at CardioVascular Associates (CVA). He graduated with honors from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies and matriculated in the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSOM), graduating with highest honors in 1998. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at UAB, where he was recognized for outstanding teaching and patient care and was Chief Fellow during his fourth fellowship year.
Dr. Miller has been active in national programs of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and is currently a Trustee of the College and Chair-Elect of the Board of Governors. He has been in other leadership roles including the Diabetes Education Initiative and Geriatric Cardiology Section Leadership Committee of the ACC and he was a primary investigator for the development of a geriatric cardiology curriculum, entitled Essentials of Cardiovascular Care in Older Adults (ECCOA). He has published over 50 original manuscripts and several book chapters in the fields of hypertension, vascular biology, women and heart disease, cardiothoracic surgery, and echocardiography. He has served in other leadership roles, including on the Board of Directors for the Southeast Lipid Association and Society of Geriatric Cardiology, and is Past-President of the Gulf Central Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension. With the Alabama Chapter of the ACC, Dr. Miller has been an active member since 2001, chaired the education committee from 2008-2014, and has been Governor/President since 2015.
Dr. Miller holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Miller sees patients at the Colonnade Parkway office, the Narrows office and the Sylacauga office of CVA. He is accepting patients with the need for specialized management of Hypertension and general cardiology care.

Why do some Orlando Health physicians not have a patient experience rating?
The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
