When you arrive at the hospital in labor, you can settle into our hotel-like private labor suite, equipped for labor, delivery and recovery. Our mothers benefit from one-on-one nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process.
If your newborn needs special care or treatment, the High Risk Pregnancy Unit is staffed by neonatologists and highly skilled nurses trained in high-risk pregnancies, and features the most technologically advanced equipment to care for your newborn.
After baby arrives, we want to ensure that you and your family are as comfortable as possible.
Mother-Baby Unit - Brookwood’s unique mother-baby unit provides care after the delivery of your baby. Nurses in this unit are specially trained to teach new mothers about caring for themselves and their newborns and lactation consultants are available to help you learn breastfeeding techniques. The Mother Baby Suites provide a home-like environment with a focus on caring for you and your new baby. New moms will enjoy an array of in-room amenities and services including room service, Wi-fi and flat screen TVs.
Well-Baby Nursery is an important aspect of newborn care at Brookwood. The baby has its first visit with a pediatrician in the nursery and our friendly staff provide each baby with special care and attention. As a new mom, you can relax, knowing your baby is being well cared for by a nursing staff that specializes in newborn care.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Brookwood’s Level III, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) encompasses an entire floor and is designed to care for our tiniest patients. Staffed with board-certified neonatologists, neonatal respiratory therapists, and registered nurses who are certified in infant CPR, drug intervention, and advanced life support, we deliver a level of support and compassion that families truly value. Babies are cared for in a private suite, which promotes continued bonding between mother and baby. Brookwood also offers a Neonatal Transport Service to newborns who were delivered at another hospital in the region, but require the resources available at our NICU after birth.
Breastfeeding/Lactation Center - Our lactation consultants are registered nurses with special training, extensive experience and certification in counseling and assisting breastfeeding mothers. They are available to offer help and expertise while you are in the hospital and after you return home.
