BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – November 24, 2016 – Brookwood Baptist Health (BBH) is pleased to announce that Amy Beard, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Women’s Services for the Brookwood Baptist Health market. In this position, Beard will provide strategic direction for the Women’s services line throughout the entire BBH market. She will begin her role on Monday, November 21.

With over 20 years of medical experience, Beard has been at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center since 2002. Most recently, she has served as Vice President of Women’s Services at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, where she was responsible for comprehensive strategic planning, fiscal, and operational management for all activities needed to support the delivery of quality services within the Women’s Hospital. In 2015, under her leadership, the Brookwood Women’s Team achieved the first Joint Commission Perinatal Excellence Designation in the State of Alabama and the sixth in the nation.

Beard received her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Executive Nursing Administration from the University of South Alabama and is a graduate of Tenet Leadership Academy and MOMENTUM women’s leadership program. She is a Board Member and Vice President of Alabama Maternity, Inc., Vice President for the Birmingham Region of Nurse Leaders, and Advisory Board member for the March of Dimes of Greater Birmingham. She has also served on Samford University’s School of Nursing Advisory Board.
