Formerly Brookwood Medical Center and Baptist Health System, Brookwood Baptist Health unifies two of the largest resources for high-quality, affordable healthcare for the citizens of Central Alabama. With roots extending nearly a century, the network’s community of care is comprised of five acute care hospitals with more than 1,700 licensed beds: Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Walker Baptist Medical Center and Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

Brookwood Baptist Health also provides patients with the largest primary care network in the state, which includes approximately 60 primary and specialty care clinics; approximately 1,500 affiliated physicians; and nearly 7,300 employees. Through innovative and compassionate patient care, our collective effort will strengthen our mission to empower our communities to live happier, healthier lives.

Women’s Medical Center of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Named Best Place to Have a Baby by Birmingham Parent

family favorites logoWomen’s Medical Center of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center today was recognized by Birmingham Parent magazine’s 11th Annual Family Favorites Awards. Women’s Medical Center was selected by the readers of Birmingham Parent as the 2019 Best Place to Have a Baby. 

The July edition of Birmingham Parent highlights the 2019 Family Favorites, which was reader-driven. Birmingham Parent readers nominated all entrants in each category, voted and selected the winners with their votes.

According to the magazine, Birmingham Parent hosts this annual award for the benefit of its readers as parents often rely on friends and family to tell them what is best, and Family Favorites is not only a great referral system, but also a great way to honor the best of the best in Birmingham!

“We are extremely honored to be selected as Best Place to Have a Baby,” stated Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Women’s Medical Services Administrative Director, Sande Brewton, MHSA, BSN, RNC-MNN. “This honor is particularly meaningful in that it is selected by parents in the Birmingham community. We have the privilege to be a part of the greatest experience in parents’ lives for thousands of families every year. To be recognized by these parents for the high quality care we provide and the dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff for their experience is humbling.”
