Formerly Brookwood Medical Center and Baptist Health System, Brookwood Baptist Health unifies two of the largest resources for high-quality, affordable healthcare for the citizens of Central Alabama. With roots extending nearly a century, the network’s community of care is comprised of five acute care hospitals with more than 1,700 licensed beds: Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Walker Baptist Medical Center and Citizens Baptist Medical Center.

WBMC Celebrates National Hospital Week and National Nurses Week

May 21, 2018

JASPER, Ala. - May 10, 2018 – Walker Baptist Medical Center is hosting a variety of events to say thank you to all of the hospital’s employees during the 2018 National Hospital Week and Nurses Week.

May 6-12 is National Hospital Week, the nation’s largest healthcare event. This week is the celebration of the history, technology, innovation and dedicated individuals in the healthcare industry. This week also marks National Nurses Week, which aims to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society.

Walker Baptist Medical Center is celebrating in its own way by hosting events throughout the week, including:

  • Cupcake Celebration
  • Jim ‘N Nicks BBQ Luncheon
  • Appreciation Breakfast

Walker Baptist Medical Center Chief Executive Officer, Bob Phillips, praised the dedicated staff, nurses and physicians at the facility, stating how important this week is not only to celebrate these individuals for their hard work and commitment, but also to mark the support of the community the hospital receives. Phillips touched on how proud he is to work alongside this compassionate team.
