Marye Elliott RN, BSN, MSN Named CNO at Brookwood Baptist Medical

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – June 22, 2017 
– Brookwood Baptist Health (BBH) is pleased to announce that Marye Elliott, RN, BSN, MSN, has been named to the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. In this position, Elliott will provide leadership to the nursing staff at the largest hospital in Brookwood Baptist Health.

With almost 40 years of medical experience, Elliott has been a Chief Nursing Officer since 2008, serving first at Riverview Regional Medical Center and most recently at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. Elliott developed her leadership style and experience in roles including Associate Executive Director of Nursing; Division Director for Critical Care Nursing; Assistant Director for Patient Care; Critical Care; Head Nurse for Cardiac Surgery Unit, Coronary Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit; as well as a charge nurse for a large cardiac surgery unit.  With direct care and management experience at both Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham and at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, Elliott is well-prepared to lead us forward.

Elliott received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama Birmingham. She has been nominated to the Alabama Nursing Hall of Fame and was awarded the Alabama Hospital Hero Award in 2010. Elliott has also served on multiple Professional Advisory Committees for over a decade, including committees for Jacksonville State University School of Nursing and the Gadsden State Community College of Practical Nursing.
