He's A Wonder!

Chaplain Tamekia A. Milton

Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone does wonderful things. Blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. Psalm 72:18-19 (AMP)

Sometimes, I think we fail to consider how amazing and fantastically fabulous Jesus is. Actually, He is in a class all by himself. For the Bible says, in Philippians 2: 9-11(Amp) that "God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord [sovereign God], to the glory of God the Father.”

The nature of God's existence in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ is awe-inspiring. We come to know God and experience the personification of His "Is-ness" through Jesus Christ. In John chap. 14:6 (Amp) Jesus said, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

Hence, the wonder of God revealed in Christ Jesus not only solidifies and justifies the Christian faith, but it reconciles God's hope and plan for creation. That hope and plan is for us to receive and accept Him as our God, the Creator, the One who not only knows us by name, but is distinctively engaged with every detail of our lives, that even the very hairs on your head are numbered. (Matt.10:30)

The wonderment of God is revealed through his love and compassion towards us, which never fails, but rather, as the Scripture states Lamentations 3:23, “they are new every morning.” The wonder of God rests in His "Is-ness" which shows up in divine and salvific ways to heal, deliver, and free all. In John 12: 46-47 Jesus said, "I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”

As we go through out our days and life, may we find strength, peace, and hope knowing that there is a God in Christ Jesus, “who alone does wonderful things” for our good, yet, for His glory.

Prayer:
God of mercy, God of peace, God love, and God of grace; grant unto your people the patience, courage, and trust to believe and have faith in You, that we may receive and experience the fullness of Your wonder in our lives, communities, and world. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
